Webb Decides to Stay Local

Toledo, OH (Whitmer High School) running back Jody Webb has committed to the University of Toledo. Webb, a 5-9 and 175 pound back, has 4.39 speed. He also returned kicks in high school for the Whitmer Panthers.
Webb rushed for 1,539 yards and 30 touchdowns as a senior in 2011, helping Whitmer to a 13-1 record. Jody averaged 6.9 yards per rush.

As a junior, Jody rushed for 1589 yards (9.1 yards per rush) and had 24 receptions for 396 yards. He totaled 23 touchdowns.
Webb was named 2011 Old Newsboys Goodfellow Association Hilton Murray Player of the Year for his performance as a senior.
Webb is the nephew of former NFL running back Chuck Webb. Chuck Webb played his high school ball in Toledo, OH at Macomber High School. He went on to star at Tennessee and was drafted in the 3rd round of the NFL draft by the Green Bay Packers. He played two seasons in the NFL.
Jody Webb took an official visit to Toledo this past weekend. He was recruited to Toledo by assistant coach Paul Nichols.
Jody is the 23rd commitment in Toledo's 2012 football recruiting class. He is expected to sign his national letter of intent with Toledo on February 1st, which is the first day that high school seniors can sign with a Division I school.
