Toledo Picked to Win MAC West Title

The Mid-American Conference unveiled their 2014 preseason predictions this morning at MAC Football Media Day, and the Toledo Rockets have been picked to win the MAC West Division Title. Head Coach Matt Campbell and his Rockets received 11 first place votes and 114 points to hold the top spot in the West. Northern Illinois has been tabbed for 2nd in the West with 8 first place votes and 110 points.

According to the preseason poll, Toledo will play arch-rival Bowling Green in the MAC Championship game at Ford Field on December 5th. Bowling Green received 18 first place votes and 144 total votes, easily taking the top spot in the East Division. Bowling Green received 11 votes to win the MAC Championship game, while Toledo received 6 votes to win the championship.

Toledo opens the 2014 season on Saturday, August 30th at the Glass Bowl against New Hampshire.
