Toledo Heading to Famous Idaho Potato Bowl

The University of Toledo football program has accepted an invitation to the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and will play #22 Utah State. The game is scheduled for Saturday, December 15th at 4:30pm and will be televised live on ESPN.
The Toledo Rockets (9-3) have never played in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, but have played recently on the field the bowl game is played on. The game is in Boise, ID on the blue turf. Toledo played at Boise State in 2010, on that same blue turf.

"We are very excited to be selected to play Utah State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl," said Toledo Director of Athletics Mike O'Brien. "I'm confident that our players, coaches and fans will enjoy a terrific bowl experience in Boise. We've heard nothing but great things from the MAC schools that have played in this bowl in the past."
"I think the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl will provide our student-athletes with an outstanding bowl experience, as well as the opportunity to play against a very tough Utah State team," said UT head coach Matt Campbell. "Playing in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl is an excellent reward for our players, coaches and everyone involved in our team's success."
The Idaho Potato Bowl is the 13th bowl game in Rocket history. Toledo currently holds a 9-3 bowl record, including a thrilling 42-41 victory over Air Force in the Military Bowl last year.
Toledo is one of a record seven (7) MAC schools in bowl games this postseason. The MAC also got a school into a BCS bowl game for the first time ever as 15th ranked Northern Illinois will play 12th ranked Florida State in the Orange Bowl.
