TOLEDO, OH - The University of Toledo football team will play at Kentucky in 2019, UT vice-president and athletic director Mike O’Brien announced today. The game will be played on Saturday, Aug. 31at Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington. The contest will mark the first meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.
“We are very pleased to add Kentucky to our football schedule in 2019,” said O’Brien. “It will be an exciting opportunity for our team to face off against a team from the SEC. Also, with Lexington less than five hours away, our fans and students will be able to attend the game and cheer on their Rockets.”
The Kentucky game will mark the fifth time Toledo has played a team from the SEC. The Rockets are 1-3 vs. the SEC, with the lone win coming last season in a 16-12 upset of No. 18 Arkansas in Little Rock.
