Rockets Tabbed for 2nd in MAC West Division

The Mid-American Conference held their annual football media day at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan today. A 25 member panel from the league's media contingent picked the Rockets to finish in 2nd place in the MAC West Division this fall.
Toledo earned 122 total points to Northern Illinois' 138 points. The Rockets received 5 first place votes. Northern Illinois was picked to win the MAC West Division and earned 16 first place votes.

Ball State was picked to finish 3rd and received three first place votes. Central Michigan was picked fourth and received one first place vote. Western Michigan was picked to finish in 5th place in the West Division with Eastern Michigan picked to finish in last place.
Ohio University was picked to win the MAC's East Division. Bowling Green was picked 2nd, followed by Kent State, Buffalo, Miami University, Akron, and then UMASS.
Northern Illinois received the most votes to win the MAC Championship game, garnering 14 votes. Toledo and Ohio University each received three votes, Bowling Green and Ball State received two votes, and Central Michigan received one vote.
The Rockets open the 2014 season at the Swamp in Gainesville, FL on August 31st when the Rockets take on their first SEC opponent in the Florida Gators.
