Ohio Defensive Tackle Pledges Toledo

Matt Campbell and the University of Toledo football coaching staff received their 21st commitment in the 2012 recruiting class this evening when Cleveland, Ohio defensive tackle Chris Collins called up Campbell and gave his verbal commitment.
Campbell, 6-4 and 250 pounds, can play either defensive end or defensive tackle. He was recruited to Toledo by assistant and defensive line coach Eli Rasheed, as well as head coach Matt Campbell.

Campbell joins junior college DT Dexter Blackmon and high school senior Phillip Martin as defensive line commitments in Toledo's 2012 football recruiting class. Blackmon is a 6-3, 290 pound defensive tackle from Coffeyville CC in Kansas. Martin is a 6-3, 260 pound defensive end from Chicago, IL.
With Collins' commitment to Toledo, the Rocket coaching staff have just a few more openings to fill in the 2012 recruiting class. The bulk of their work in January will be to keep on board the 20 committed players that have not signed national letters of intent. JUCO punter Brad Dunavant signed in December during the JUCO and mid-year transfer early signing period. The other 20 commitments cannot sign until February 1st.
