Mentor DE Chooses Toledo over Cincinnati

Mentor, Ohio defensive end John Stepec committed to the University of Toledo earlier today.
A little over a week ago, Stepec told Rivals.com recruiting analyst Josh Helmholdt that he had narrowed his list of schools down to Toledo and Cincinnati. This morning he made the call to Toledo to make his commitment.

The 6-2, 250 pound defensive end held offers from Ball State, Boston College, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Kent State, Miami University, Minnesota, Ohio University, Syracuse, Toledo and Western Michigan.
Stepec camped at Toledo earlier this summer. Heading into the camp circuit Stepec listed Cincinnati, Minnesota and Toledo as his favorites. When Stepec visited Toledo he got to meet the coaching staff as well as senior defensive end TJ Fatinikun. He walked away knowing that Toledo would be tough to top.
Stepec joins QB logan Woodside as commitments to the University of Toledo in the last few days. Woodside committed to Toledo on Wednesday after receiving an offer from the Rockets in the last week. Stepec is the 9th commitment in Toledo's 2013 football recruiting class.
