JUCO DB Returns From Toledo Visit

2015 JUCO defensive back prospect Treston DeCoud took a mid-week official visit to Toledo this week. After returning home from the visit, DeCoud took a few minutes to update TheRocketNation on his recruitment and visit to Toledo.
"It was great," Treston responded when asked about the official visit to Toledo. He added, "I love the coaches and (love) how the players are like a family."

DeCoud picked us his offer from Toledo back in December. Assistant coaches DK McDonald and Jon Heacock are recruiting him for the Rockets. Quarterback Phillip Ely was Treston's player host during the visit.
DeCoud is looking for a school where he can come in and play right away, and Toledo fits the description. The Rocket coaching staff is looking to strengthen a secondary that struggled against pass happy teams in the MAC, including non-conference opponents Missouri, Cincinnati and Arkansas State. In 2015 Toledo will play the likes of Arkansas, Arkansas State and Iowa State in non-conference action, hosting the Red Wolves and Cyclones at the Glass Bowl in Toledo.
The 6-3, 205 pound defensive back prospect played his JUCO ball at Northwest Mississippi Community College. In 2014 he earned 1st Team All-American honors after posting 38 tackles, a team high six interceptions, and seven pass breakups. DeCoud was a redshirt sophomore in 2014, so he will have two years of eligibility remaining when he steps foot at a Division One campus in 2015.
DeCoud has 14 offers including FBS programs East Carolina, Fresno State, Houston, North Texas, Oregon State, UL-Lafayette, Southern Miss, UTSA, Toledo, Utah State and Western Kentucky. He visited Utah State in December and then Oregon State last weekend before making the Toledo visit on Tuesday. Treston has at least one more visit planned, this weekend at UL-Lafayette. He may also visit Baylor the last weekend before signing day, but he has not received in offer from them yet.
So after visiting Toledo, where do the Rockets stand in his recruitment? "They're in my top five right now," said DeCoud. While DeCoud will not official release a top five until next week, Toledo is in good shape to not only be in his top five but to also be one of the final three schools he will choose from on signing day. For Rocket fans the question is whether or not Treston DeCoud will have a Rocket hat on the table on February 4th, and will he be picking that hat up?
