J.D. Weatherspoon Transferring to Toledo

Ohio State forward J.D. Weatherspoon is transferring to the University of Toledo. Toledo head coach Tod Kowalczyk announced Weatherspoon's transfer earlier this evening.
Weatherspoon is a 6-6 and 215 pound forward from Columbus, Ohio. He will become eligible to play at Toledo in the 2013-14 season and will have two years of eligibility left.

Weatherspoon averaged 3.0 points and 1.1 rebounds per game this past season as a sophomore on an Ohio State team that went to the final four. He scored a career-high of 10 points in a game against VMI. He also scored 8 points in games against Penn State and Iowa.
"J.D. brings a great deal of athleticism and excitement to our program and we are happy to welcome him to our Rocket family," Toledo head coach Tod Kowalczyk said. He added, "he's a forward that plays above the rim and is a very good rebounder at both ends of the floor. I think a year to sit out and work on his skill level will benefit J.D. greatly, and we look forward to him being an impact player for us as a junior."
