Florida cornerback excited by UT offer

Since Clearwater (Fla.) Central Catholic cornerback Rashaad Stewart added his first offer from Marshall on March 14th, the rangy 6-foot-1, 175-pound rising senior has been steadily picking up offers. He has since added offers from Western Kentucky, Charleston Southern, Toledo, and Bowling Green.

TheRocketNation.com got Stewart's reaction of the Toledo offer the same night he received the good news from running backs coach Marquell Blackwell.

"Coach Blackwell came down here a few weeks back and was interested in me then, so he went back to Toledo to coordinate it with the head coach," said Stewart. "(Wednesday), he told my coach that they wanted to offer me."

The sunshine state prospect is impressed by Toledo already, as they've already became one of his top options.

"I'm really interested in the school and the program," Stewart said. "I would like to learn more about them. I would put them up there at the top of my list right now."

The Rockets' new running backs coach is a big part of why Stewart is so interested in Toledo.

"Talking to coach Blackwell, he's a real good coach, and I think I would fit well in their defensive scheme," said Stewart.

Florida International, Akron, Ohio, and Northern Illinois are also showing Stewart interest but have not offered yet.

After Stewart's spring ball ends, he has schools he hopes to see, including UT.

"I'm not completely sure yet, but I'm planning on trips to NC State, Wake Forest, Vandy, WKU, FIU, Toledo, Bowling Green," he said.
